Rockmart High School held its annual Honors Night program Thursday, May 24 at the high school gym. Graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2012 followed 7 p.m. Friday in the school's stadium.

Kayli Wilson was introduced at the Honors Night ceremony as the 2012 RHS Valedictorian. Andy Norman was unveiled as salutatorian.

Among the other students recognized were 37 honor graduates of the Class of 2012. Honor graduates earned the honor by maintaining a combined grade point average of 89.5 and above for all four years of high school.

Honor graduates are: Kristen Akins, Arienna Anderson, Josh Andrews, Whitney Bennett, Jessica Campbell, Jamie Anne Conway, Daniel Cook, Taylor Dellinger, Ann Enverga, Kody Fennell, Savanna Garrett, Krista Gay, Savannah Gazaway, Devan Goss, Makayla Graves, Kelsey Harp, Robert Heaton, Darius Holloman, Sarah Kofile, Svanna Landrum, Clay Mayben, Charissa Moore, Andrew Norman, Holly Priest, Hannah Purser, Angela Simmons, Zach Thompson, Montana tilley, Jordan Torline, Chelsi Ward, Jeremiah Wheatley, Hannah White, Alex Williams, Sabrina Williams, Kayli Wilson, Montana Wilson and Caroline Worley.

During commencement exercises Friday, retiring RHS Principal Teresa Treadaway said the school also is graduating 60 HOPE scholars. The HOPE scholarship is available to Georgia students who graduate with a 3.0 grade point average and also meet other qualifications.

The monetary value of the scholarships awarded to the RHS Class of 2012 exceeds $1,647,000, Treadaway said.
