Cedartown Bulldogs youth travel team to play for championship

The Cedartown Bulldogs youth travel football league has placed one team in the championship game this fall.

The Cedartown Bulldogs youth travel football team is a program that has four squads. They have a 5-and-6-year-old team, as well as a 7-and-8-year-old team, a 9-and-10-year-old team and a 11-and-12-year-old team.

The Cedartown 7-and-8-year-old team and the 9-and-10-year-old teams made the playoffs, but lost in the first round. The 5-and-6-year-old team won the first and second round games and have advanced to the championship game, which will be played this Saturday. They will play at 9 a.m. in Atlanta against the Union Grove Wolverines.

Members of the team are Xavier Holiday, Amari Gibson, Hunter Freeman, Xavier Hargrove, Ajoni Logan, Reonte Porter, Harlem Diamond, Torrey Hutchins, Jr., Zyion McCrary, Demarion Martin, Jamyus Sullivan, Jakaylan Blackwood, Jordan Beasley, Dakota Dingler, and Christopher Sewell. The coaches are Jamie Diamond and Nicholas Diamond.

The 11-and-12-year-old team had only 11 players on their roster this season and competed against teams that had 20 to 25 players on their teams. They failed to make the playoffs this season.
