He was born on Sept. 10, 1963 in Cedartown, the son of Dorothy Ruth Stubbs Garner and Richard Franklin Garner Sr.
Mr. Garner received his formal education in the Polk School System and was a member of the Victory Baptist Church. Prior to his becoming disabled, he was a self-employed painter.
Survivors included a daughter, Nikki Garner and a son, Jonathan Garner and his wife, Courtney all of Leesburg, Ala.; his parents, Dorothy and Richard Franklin Garner Sr. of Cedartown; a sister, Catherine York of Cedartown; three brothers, Jimmy Garner of Aragon, Jack Garner and Joey Garner both of Cedartown.
Four grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survived.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, June 5 at 7 p.m. in the chapel of the Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Snapp and Rev. Joey Davidson officiating.
