Tornado watch issued for Polk

A tornado watch was issued for Polk County until 6 p.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The severe thunderstorm warning was scheduled to end at 5 o'clock.

At 4:41 p.m. EST, a line of storms capable of producing damaging winds were moving northeast at 50 MPH.

A wind advisory remains in effect until midnight tonight for much of North and Central Georgia.
