The keynote speaker will be Randy Goodman, a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Goodman served more than 17 years in the Air Force, retiring May 31, 1994 at the rank of master sergeant. He then went on to work 16 years with the Georgia Department of Labor in Atlanta as a program/operations manager.
Goodman earned his associate’s degree in Aerospace Ground Equipment Maintenance from the Community College of the Air Force in October 1983. He earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology from Southern Illinois University in June 1990 and a master’s degree in management of technology from Southern Polytechnic State University in 1996.
Goodman entered basic training in July 1976 and graduated from the aerospace ground equipment school at Chanute Air Force Base, Ill., in December 1976. He completed tours of duty at Myrtle Beach Air Force Base, S.C., Osan Air Base, Korea, Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., Barksdale Air Force Base, La., Royal Air Force Base, Alconbury, England, Tinker Air Force Base, Okla., the American Embassy, Muscat, Oman and Hurlburt Field, Fla.
His military decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Air Force Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with four oak leaf clusters, the National Defense Service Medal and the Southwest Asia Service Medal with one device.
Goodman is a lifetime member of the Air Force Sergeant’s Association and The American Legion. He currently serves The American Legion as state junior vice commander, state legislative liaison and as state employment committee chair.
He is a native of Florence, S.C. and is the father of two grown children.
