Cedartown’s Krige Schabort was recently back in Hawaii competing in the Honolulu Wheelchair Marathon and he once again found himself in the winner’s circle.

Competing in the Honolulu Wheelchair Marathon for the fourth time, Schabort started to pull away from the field at the midway mark of the 40 kilometer race and he never looked back as he finished the 2012 race in 1:33:17 to take home top honors.

Masazumi Soejima of Japan came in second on Sunday, Dec. 9 with a time of 1:36:48, followed by Japan’s Ryota Yoshida (1:39:43), Australia’s Brett McArthur (1:42:53) and Japan’s Yoshifumi Nagao (2:05:41).

Schabort also won this marathon in 2011.

It actually is Krige's ninth win - http://www.honolulumarathon.org/?s=raceweeknews

He is the only push-rim racer to be inducted in the Honolulu Hall of Fame. Great racer, Great training partner, Great Brother.
