Head coach Bill Ellis was pleased with his Cedartown Middle School baseball team on Monday in their regular season opener.

That’s because the Bulldogs offense appeared to be in midseason form, and the Bulldogs pitching was ahead of the game as well, as Cedartown blew out Chattooga 15-2.

“We pitched several guys, all of whom had at least one strikeout,” Ellis said. “Jacob Rodriguez had four.”

Offensively, Miles Minge belted a home run and Walker Barrow hit a triple.

Cedartown is scheduled to play Friday at St. Mary’s and then play Darlington in a doubleheader on Saturday.

Members of the team this season are Walker Barrow, Stan Ellis, Dalton Prince, Casey Newsome, Miles Minge, Jack Haney, Henley Hayes, Lee Sisson, Jacob Rodriguez, Cruz Rodriguez, Stephen Walker, Treyvon Wofford, and Robbie Matthews.

Helping Ellis coach this season are assistant coaches Ryan Prince and Jeff Minge.
