A Cedartown woman arrested on an outstanding warrant was found to have drugs on her person while being processed into the Polk County Jail, according to Cedartown police reports.

The Aug. 20 incident began when a Cedartown officer noticed the suspect, Rebecca Noel Vaughn, 25, of Cason Road, Cedartown, driving near the bypass and Cason Road. Police observed Vaughn stop her car beyond the white stop line on two occasions, reports said.

The officer initiated a traffic stop just past Tuck Street on Cason Road. Vaughn was found to have a Failure to Pay Bench Warrant out of the Cedartown Police Department, reports said.

Vaughn was arrested and taken to jail. A jailer conducting a search of Vaughn allegedly discovered a syringe and a small baggie of suspected methamphetamine on her person. Officers conducted a field test on the substance, and it tested positive for meth, reports said.

Vaughn is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug related objects and crossing the guard line with drugs in addition to the warrant charge.
